Visual Obstruction Readings (Transects)
To depict line transects associated with the Visual Obstruction wildlife monitoring project.
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>Visual obstruction measurements are recorded in grasslands to monitor the habitat of grassland birds. One measurement is taken in each cardinal direction—for four total measurements—of the maximum height off the ground at-which vegetation totally obstructs the view of the monitor. These measurements are then averaged to provide one reading per sample point. The measurements are taken along a 200-meter transect. Measurements are taken every 20 meters along the transect, for a total of 11 measurements for each transect. This dataset depicts these transects. Monitoring is performed annually.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
