This layer is created through a scripted process. The script is run nightly and can be found at the City's GitHub.

All polygonal areas in this dataset are derived from LIFECYCLE = 'Active' assets in the feature classes inside the Public Works planimetric areas dataset. The layers that make up this derived feature class also participate in a pseudo-topology. For example, if a Building polygon overlaps a Driveway polygon, the script will "over-rule" the bit of intersecting Driveway and call it a Building. The hierarchy for this logic is as follows:

- Medians (Maintenance Areas with FACILITYTYPE = 'Median' AND SURFTYPE = 'Hard')

- Buildings

- Roads

- Parking Lots (SURFACETYPE = 'Impervious')

- Driveway

- Sidewalk
