Service Description: Wetlands in this dataset are symbolized by their regulatory status as well as their category.
Regulatory Status
Regulated wetlands are either those currently regulated by the City's Planning and Development Services department, or those that are proposed and awaiting application acceptance. Non-Regulatory wetlands are those that are mapped outside City limits.
Category
Wetlands are categorized as either "High Functioning" or "Low Functioning". Wetlands that are regulated and high functioning have a 25' inner buffer and 25' outer buffer totaling 50' of buffered regulatory space where development is restricted and/or regulated. Wetlands that are regulated and low functioning only have a 25' inner buffer where development activities are restricted.

This dataset was compiled in 2017 based on several datasets owned by the City. Field work and digitizing by Land Stewardship Consulting, with supplemental wetlands added by the City of Boulder from previous mapping done by Cooper in 2004.
